50 YEARS PLUS AT A GLANCE
In 1954, The Centre For Child Development was founded as a registered
non-profit, charitable society by a group of parents whose children
had cerebral palsy.
It has since evolved to serve children with all types developmental
disabilities throughout the South Fraser Region. These parents initially
collaborated to transport their children to G.F. Strong Centre In
Vancouver. As the South Fraser population grew they determined that
it needed its own Child Development Centre!
From its humble beginnings serving a handful of children, the Centre
has grown to provide intensive services to approximately 1,800 children
per year through 140 professional health sector staff from three
locations in Surrey, Langley and Delta.
Our desire to meet the challenges of a growing population is reflected
in the quality and diversity of the services we provide through
Communication Therapy, Developmental Medicine, Family Services,
Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy (including Technical Services),
