Eating Skills Team
The Eating Skills Team includes the child and family, developmental pediatrician, a speech-language pathologist, an occupational therapist, and a dietician.
The Eating Skills Team will assess the feeding and swallowing difficulties of your child.
Based upon the results of the team’s assessment, recommendations and practical advice will be given to the child’s family and staff.
This advice may be about feeding (including oral motor skills), positioning, equipment, and types and textures of food.
Eligibility
Children whose safety is compromised or who are not getting adequate nutrition due to their developmental disabilities may be eligible for this service.
The Eating Skills Team works with children from birth to age 19 who live in Surrey, Delta, White Rock or Langley.
Referrals
Referrals to the Eating Skills Team must be made by physician to The Centre’s consulting developmental pediatrician.
